Learn more about the Victorian Inspectorate during Law Week 2019

The Victorian Inspectorate is providing the opportunity for the community to hear more about who we are and how we protect the integrity system, and in particular about the importance of witness welfare in integrity investigations

Law Week (13-19 May 2019) is an annual festival of events presented by the Victoria Law Foundation aimed at making learning about the law easy for the public.

Who protects the integrity system? (13 May 2019)

Integrity bodies — such as the Victorian Ombudsman, the Auditor-General and the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission — exist to ensure that the police force and public sector organisations are held accountable for their actions. But who protects the integrity system?

The Victorian Inspectorate (VI) receives and investigates complaints against a wide range of integrity bodies, ensuring that the powers granted to those bodies are used lawfully. At this event, hear Inspector Eamonn Moran PSM QC and VI Executive Director Legal and Integrity Cathy Cato discuss the Inspectorate’s role and discover how the VI can assist you. The Inspector will be available for a Q&A at the end of the session.
