The Victorian Inspectorate is overseen by the following Parliamentary Committees:

The PAEC reviews the performance of the duties and functions of the Victorian Inspectorate, and examines any reports made by the Victorian Inspectorate, in relation to Victorian Auditor-General's Office, officers.

To ensure the independence of the Victorian Inspectorate and the Inspector, it is legally impermissible for any of the above committees to investigate or review any decision, finding or recommendation made by the Victorian Inspectorate in the discharge or exercise of its functions and powers.
