Create a family violence information-sharing regime

Recommendation 005 - Implemented

The Victorian Government amend the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 (Vic) to create a specific family violence information-sharing regime. The new regime should be consistent with the guiding principles and design elements described in this report.

What we are doing

A Bill to establish a family violence information sharing regime received Royal Assent on 14 June 2017.

Where we are up to

Work is continuing with sector stakeholders to develop regulations determining the scope and timing of entities that will be able to share information under the family violence information sharing regime, as well as the record keeping requirements that these entities will have to meet.

Timeframe
